Research Interest

So far, my research has mainly focused on the morphology of Strepsiptera. I would like to extend morphological research to other insect groups. In my upcoming PhD project, I will use my acquired knowledge to describe new species of Strepsiptera and improve the efficiency of insect species descriptions using modern imaging and molecular methods. Moreover, I am a dedicated field entomologist who is always curious to encounter, identify and even discover new insect species.

Research Topics

  • Insect morphology with emphasis on musculature and phylogenetic implications
  • Development and morphology of endoparasitic larvae of Strepsiptera
  • Taxonomy of Strepsiptera

Research Methods

  • μ-CT segmentation, 3D rendering
  • Stereomicroscopy
  • Scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
  • Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM)
  • Histology
